Gerald R. Ralph B.Sc. (Hons), LL.B.

I graduated from GFA High School in Grand Falls-Windsor in 1991, and subsequently completed an honours science degree in Environmental Science from Carleton University. I obtained my law degree from Dalhousie University specializing in marine and environmental law.

I began my legal career in 2001 at the law firm Patterson Palmer in St. John’s. While there, I gained experience in a full range of practice areas but with particular focus on personal injury, litigation, construction law, and the personal legal services of real estate, wills and estates. I also served as a lawyer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal between 2002 and 2004.

In 2004 I was employed with the Government of Nunavut and led the legislative review of the Territory’s Public Service Act, and was later retained as an advisor to the Nunavut Government for the review of the Territory’s Education Act. After receiving the highest mark in Nunavut Law Society’s history on the bar exam, I returned to Gander where I joined Easton Hillier Lawrence Preston and practiced for the last 9 of 10 years. In 2007-2008, I served as corporate counsel to the Humber Valley Resort and broadened my experience to deal with resort law, large scale land development and real estate involving non-residents of Canada.

I have always been known for committing my limitless enthusiasm and knowledge to all my endeavours and as I embark on the journey of opening Central Law, I am determined to continue to achieve optimum results for my clients.

I enjoy helping my clients solve their problems, whether it is recovering money for injuries, wrongful dismissals, or challenging insurance companies. I started my career 15 years ago working for insurance defence, I know the system and I like digging out the truth; especially from those trying to hide it. And as any of my previous clients can attest, I am not afraid to take the case to court and I actually enjoy the courtroom.

My current general practice involves a variety of real-estate and land development, with particular emphasis on subdivision development. In addition, I have an extensive litigation practice with a strong emphasis on personal injury. I am result oriented and I am one of Central Newfoundland’s most experience personal injury lawyers.
